The angel went away. Mary hurried to the hill country to visit her relative Elizabeth. “Hello, Elizabeth!” she called as she went inside the house.

Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem. There were no guest rooms in the crowded city when they arrived, so they found a stable where they could sleep on the hay.
That night in the stable, baby Jesus was born! Mary wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.
